Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Below are some of the questions we are most often asked
-
We work with businesses that are growing but operationally stretched. We don't define our market by turnover or headcount. We define it by whether the business has outgrown the way it currently operates.
-
No. We are an operational delivery partner. We design, build, and embed operational structure. We don't write reports and walk away. We do the work alongside your team and train them to maintain it.
-
Your accountant tells you what the numbers are. We fix the operations that drive them. We work on the processes, systems, and workflows that affect cash flow, margin, and performance. We don't replace your accountant. We work upstream of them.
-
No. You can start with a standalone assessment to get a clear picture of what's broken and what to fix first. From there, you decide what to do next. There's no obligation.
-
It depends on scope. An assessment typically takes one to two weeks. Implementation engagements vary based on complexity. We agree scope, cost, and timeline before any work starts.
-
Every engagement is scoped to the problem. Assessments typically start from £2,500. Design and implementation engagements are priced by complexity and agreed upfront. You know what it costs before we begin.
-
Yes. If you already know the problem, we can skip the assessment and get straight to designing and building the solution.
-
We work with whatever systems your business uses. Common platforms include Xero, HubSpot, Stripe, and various cloud-based tools. We focus on helping you choose the right systems for your needs and making them work together properly, not selling specific technology.
-
We design engagements to minimise disruption. We work alongside your team and phase implementation so the business keeps running while improvements are made.
-
You own the output. The assessment delivers findings, root causes, and a prioritised roadmap you can act on yourself, bring to us for implementation, or take to another provider. There's no obligation to continue, and no penalty for stopping.
-
Yes. We work alongside your team throughout. We train them on anything new we install. The goal is that your team can run everything we've built without us.
-
We train your team to own and maintain what we've built. If you want ongoing support after that, it's available on a structured monthly basis. But the aim is always self-sufficiency.
-
Yes. We're based in Surrey but work with businesses across the UK and further afield remotely.
-
Yes. But we start with structure, not tools. Most AI adoption fails because the underlying processes, systems, and workflows aren't ready. We fix that foundation first, then deploy AI where it makes sense, governed and monitored.
-
Yes. We collaborate with accountants, IT providers, and other advisors. We focus on operational delivery and don't step on existing relationships.
-
We work across sectors. Our approach is based on operational structure, not industry-specific knowledge. Common clients include professional services, trades, light industrial, property, health, and B2B service businesses to name a few.
-
If cash takes too long to collect, every decision runs through you, your team is busy but output doesn't match, or you can't see how the business is really performing, those are signs the operational structure needs work. Our free Operational Health Check can help you pinpoint exactly where. It takes 2 to 3 minutes.
-
It's a free questionnaire that takes 2 to 3 minutes to complete. You answer 14 questions about how your business operates across cash flow, operational control, and workflow efficiency. You get a tailored report showing where your operations may be costing you time, money, or control, and what should take priority.
-
A fractional COO is a part-time senior operator embedded in your business, usually 2 to 3 days a week, for 6 to 12 months or longer. Most work with businesses above £25m turnover where the economics of part-time executive time make sense. We're different in three ways: 1) we mainly work with businesses between £1m and £25m turnover, 2) we engage in scoped pieces of work rather than ongoing retainer, and 3) we fix the operational structure and hand it over so your team can run it without us. If you need ongoing executive leadership, a fractional COO is the right answer. If you need specific operational structure installed and embedded in e.g. 4 to 12 weeks, that's us.
Should you have any more questions not covered here, get in touch and we can help, or take our Operational Health Check for a tailored report showing where you operations may need attention.
